St. George

A few photographs from my trip to St. George, Utah last week.  There is a wonderful walk/bike path right by the convention center.

Beautiful Morning up the Mountain

Aspen turning.

Someone's lost puppy dog.

More Aspen.

Someone built a fort.

Red Maples.

Valley View.

Reflections.

The water was so calm and reflective.

More reflections.

We went up the mountain this am for a walk and a bit of fishing.  Lovely area, Lake Hill pond.  There was a lost dog there.  He doesn't look starved, but was a bit skittish and wouldn't come to us. He was very friendly with our dogs.  I would have brought him home and then called the animal control tomorrow, but we couldn't get close enough to touch him. I posted his photo on the local lost and found FB page.  I hope his people see it and go up to get him.

I was taking photos for a new project that I am doing.  They are here.  I had so many good photos today that I posted 3.

A lame FO for Friday

This is a bit of a lame FO.  I started this shawl in November.  I used 3 different yarns, the last one was the leftovers of a pair of socks.  So I am on the bind off row and I run out with 49 stitches left.  Oh bother.  I put it aside.  Then I wanted to try and figure out something and couldn't find where it was stashed.  It came out of hiding a couple of weeks ago.  I posted on Ravelry to see if anyone had a bit of the green to share and sure enough, I had a kind soul send me enough to finish the bind off.

But next week I hope to have another shawl finished. Recently I went from having 6 or 7 shawl WIPs on the needles and now I am down to 2.

Check out the others who are posting their FO's at Tami's blog.

Otter Creek Reservoir

We decided to go on a camping trip to Otter Creek Reservoir over the weekend.  The weather couldn't have been nicer!  It was so quiet there.  Very few campers, and they were all across the lake in the state park campground.  Lots of birds.  No fish.  Maybe next time.

Two shawls finished this week.

Boneyard

Mystery Shawl 28

I finished two shawls this week.  Boneyard is a fun, simple knit!  Great for in the car.  We had a five hour drive to the lake last weekend, and a five hour drive home.  So I got a lot of this one knit last weekend.  Mystery Shawl #28 is by Goddess Knits.  I have knit several of her patterns, always well written.  Now to finish up my Barbara shawl and then I can start something new.

I thought it might be fun to join a FO Friday blog party.  Hopefully I will have something knitted to post every week.  Check out the other blogs.

End of the Season

Bear Lake is always so blue on Labor Day Weekend.

I love it when the sun shines on the lake.

Tiny bit of a rainbow after the storm.

Peaty loves to go swimming!

Annabelle can't stay out of the water!

Clouds to the west.

Clouds to the south.

Lovely color for the sunset.

Wonderful colors.

We went up to Bear Lake for the holiday weekend.  Tree trimming was the project for the weekend.  Everyone worked hard to get it finished.  There are still some loads of debris left.  The lake always is so pretty on Labor Day weekend!
