Still working on the Anniversary Shawl
I am still working on the Anniversary Shawl.  We went to the lake for the holiday weekend and beading in the car or at the cabin really wasn't going to work well. I am close to finishing clue #4.  I am hoping that I have enough beads.  The tube looked like it should be enough but I did not count them to make sure.

Too short for a bracelet, time to pull the beads off
To be on the safe side I am pulling apart a crocheted beaded bracelet.  It was too short to make a bracelet and I had already had to rob some beads from it for my Dolce Vita shawl.  I was 6 purple beads short!

Two new dishcloth patterns
So my knitting for the drive and at the lake was designing another series of dishcloth patterns. I was able to get two knit and handwritten, still need to type them up.

Tour de Sock
My friend has been doing the Tour de Sock for a couple of years now.  I decided I would accept the challenge this year.  The first pattern will go live on Saturday morning.  I have my yarn and beads (only needs 80, so I am good to go) ready and waiting for the release of the pattern.  I hope to get more of the yellow shawl finished by then.

I am still reading "Knit, Purl, Die" by Anne Canadeo.  It is okay.  I am about halfway through.

This is my WIP Wednesday, Yarn Along and KCCO post for this week.

News Flash!!  Just as I was working on this post I had Fed Ex come to the door. I had forgotten that my Kitchen Aid Mixer was on its way!  I am so excited, I had been dreaming of owning one of these for years!

My new toy!!!!!!!

I am going to go and finish viewing the free Craftsy class on Perfect Pizza so I can try out the new mixer!  Craftsy is free to join and they have all kinds of great classes, some free, some not.  I really like their class platform.  You can view the lessons at your leisure and not have to worry about missing a lesson.  And you can go back to review any of the lessons whenever you like.

Watering Wednesday

We finally have Spring!  I have the sprinkler on my strawberry patch.  First time I have had to water this season.

I am on clue #3 for the Anniversary Shawl. Clue #4 came out on Saturday, so I am just a little bit behind.  I am really enjoying the knitting on this one! The color is very cheerful and the pattern is interesting enough to keep your attention, but not so difficult that you have to concentrate so hard that you can't watch TV while knitting.  And I have come to enjoy knitting with beads.  They add a little bit of sparkle, and also a little bit of weight to the shawl.

Tonight I get to start a new read.  Knit, Purl, Die is the second book in a knitting murder mystery series.  I enjoyed the first book, hopefully this one will be just as good.

French Coffee Press cozies

I had so much fun knitting a cozy for my IKEA French coffee press that I decided to do some more.  I haven't done cables for a while, so I am doing a set with various sizes of cables.  I hope to have the patterns available next week.

This is my WIP Wednesday, KCCO, and my Yarn Along post for the week.

Rainy Days and Mondays

Peach blossom
One thing that I miss about living in California is that you have something blooming all year.  Around here it seems to take forever to get some Spring flowers.  I noticed that our little peach tree is blooming.  I love peach and apple blossoms!  So pretty!  They only last a few days, but really brighten up my spirits during those days.

Mystery Shawl

I found that the mistake in my Mystery shawl was only a minor hiccup.  Of course, it took way longer than it should have to figure that out!  At least I didn't tink back two rows to get to it, I was able to fix it at the working row. And I am still keeping up.  I am about a third of the way through the week #3 clue and the #4 will be released on Saturday.

I have been reading Kindred Spirits by Sarah Strohmeyer.  Only a few chapters in, but it is good so far.  It is about friendship between 4 women.

On my quilting blog I am hosting a giveaway in conjunction with Sew Mama Sew's giveaway party!

This is my WIP Wednesday, KCCO and Yarn Along  post for the week.

Friday and I am so finished with this week!

My WIP Weds!
Wednesday my internet was down all day long!  Withdrawal! I had meant to post my WIP Wednesday post, didn't happen. The yellow shawl is coming along, but I had an error and I need to go back 2 rows to figure it out.

Sad Shipwreck
I am sad about my Shipwreck.  I ignored the instructions to string the beads before knitting and am now regretting it. The photo highlights how the beads look great on the wrong side, and also how there don't look random.  I think I need to redo the netting.  I won't think about it today, I will think about it tomorrow.

I finished and blocked my Spring Shawl!  It was a fun knit!

French Press Cozy
Since I set aside the yellow shawl to deal with later, I designed and knit a cozy for my new French Press!  I have written up the pattern and it is available for free at both my Craftsy and my Ravelry pattern stores.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Check out what everyone else finished this week at Tami's blog.
