WIP Wednesday

I loved the mystery cowl I gave to a friend so much that I decided to knit one for myself! I am using the same yarn and beads, but instead of the seed stitch for a selvage I am using a 3x3 ribbing.

I found this knitting novel at the library. Fun easy romantic read.

I am still plugging along on my Wingspan.  Fun, easy knit!  I am on the 5th triangle, the pattern is for 8. I may just keep going, I wanted this to be larger than just a shawlette.

Tomorrow is the last day to enter my giveaway on my quilting blog.  The prize is a Craftsy quilting class.

This is my WIP Wednesday, KCCO and Yarn Along post for this week.

Finished Friday

I finished a cowl last week!  It was a mystery pattern and I love it! It was a birthday gift for a dear friend. I loved it so much that I cast on a second one for me.

This is my FO Friday post.

Check out my other blog, there is still time to enter to win a Craftsy class

What's up Wednesday

I finally started my Wingspan, again. I had cast this on once before using a fingering yarn and when I was at the end of the first ball and only just started the 3rd of 8 wings I knew that the two balls of yarn I had would not be enough to make it through I raveled the project.

Doubling the yarn
I had been given this fuzzy yarn that is very difficult to work with, so I paired it with sport weight wool of the Andes. It is much easier to work with.

From my Sis

From my bosses
Sunday was my birthday and even though I was cheated out of an hour because of that nonsense called "Daylight Savings Time" I still had a wonderful day!  Lots of surprise flowers!  And my daughter and her baby girl came down to visit!  And a sunny day!  What more could you ask for?

To celebrate my birthday I am having a giveaway for a Craftsy class on my quilting blog at this post. Entries are accepted until March 20th.

This is my WIP Wednesday, KCCO, and Yarn Along post for the week.

Frosty Morning

I know that most of the country has been under a deep freeze, we have had some decent weather here in the West the last couple of weeks. This morning there is frost on everything.  Burr. (We had our deep freeze in early December, but it didn't last more than a couple of weeks) Anyway I am ready for Spring!

This is a mystery cowl that I have been knitting on all February. The last clue came out on Friday so I hope to get it competed tonight. I have enjoyed the knitting.  It is a well designed and wonderfully written pattern.

My reading this week is a Melissa Senate book. I have read several of her books recently and am enjoying her stories.

Friendship Blocks
My project for today is to work on a friendship quilt for a friend. It is a surprise quilt. I am expecting the last block in the mail today.  But I can get the sashing and cornerstones cut today.  And get a general idea of how I want to arrange the blocks.

I was able to get my blocks sewn together for my new pattern, "Amy".  I know I have a fabric that is perfect for the border, somewhere in my studio closet.  I took this project with me to a quilting retreat with friends. I wrote more about that on my quilting blog.

This is my WIP Wednesday, Yarn Along and KCCO post for the week.  Thanks for stopping by!
